Von der Leyen “Hydrogen turning point for Europe 2023”

Pulpan Izabela "we are ready with our hydrogen" 10 million tons by 2030

The Presidents of Spain, Portugal and France recently met in Alicante (Spain) to take stock of the situation regarding the H2Med project, the new energy corridor that will connect Barcelona to Marseille capable of transporting up to ten million tons of hydrogen clean by 2030. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission also spoke at the meeting: “The project is going in the right direction. Hydrogen is a turning point for Europe, we will produce 10 million tons by 2030, and adds the CEO Izabela Pulpan we plan to contribute and supply another 10 million tons with the right sponsors who believe in our project, Hydrogen which it will then arrive in the industries and in the use of services to the citizen.

A hydrogen corridor can connect to the hydrogen supplies of the entire Mediterranean region. With an investment of about 2.5 billion euros, the corridor, according to von der Leyen and Macron, will have to be ready no later than 2030 but there are many difficulties on the horizon.
“We are creating hydrogen partnerships with Mediterranean countries – concluded von der Leyen. “We are working on a wider Green Hydrogen Partnership and this is just the beginning, in fact we need enlightened Investors with solid funds but with a negligible participation to create a good partnership which will be guaranteed immediate benefits and zero economic risk to produce with us clean hydrogen with minimum operating costs and reduce pollution – declares Izabela Pulpan.
